Atlassian, 2019 – now

Lead Content Designer, Trello

When I started, I was the first and only Content Designer on Trello. My role was establishing the Content Design discipline in the company, figuring out how Content Design plays with existing processes, how to improve the overall voice, and align with the rest of Atlassian. We grew to 4 Content Designers (now down to 2) and I've taken on the role of craft lead. I continue to work at the project level, but now I also mentor our other Content Designers and contribute to the overall strategy for Trello within the Atlassian portfolio of products.

Amazon, 2017 – 2019

Senior UX Writer, Devices Design Group

Amazon’s Device Design Group has launched revolutionary products like Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Alexa Communications, and more. As one of only two Senior UX Writers, I collaborated with over 50 designers to craft elegant, customer-focused experiences, and define the voice, tone, and style for user interfaces across all Alexa devices.

REI, 2015 – 2016

Senior Copywriter, Brand Lab

I was part of the team that led the REI brand. Anything that was enterprise-wide went through us. During my time here, I helped create a summer-long, interactive campaign that launched the newest REI Flagship store in Washington D.C.

Geocaching.com, 2012 – 2015

Copywriter

I was the writer for the worldwide treasure-hunting adventure known as Geocaching. I was part of the UX Team and the Video Production Team, although my day-to-day included anything from writing marketing blog posts to wearing a giant frog costume while riding a Segway in front of thousands of German geocachers.

Travelocity.com, 2010 – 2012

Senior Editor

Anything that has words on it came to me, including ads, landing pages, SEO pages, and even a little bit of Gnome-speak. I was the entire Editorial Department for one of the largest Online Travel Agencies in the United States and Canada.

Advertising agencies, 20072010

Copywriter

I worked at agencies like Publicis and RAPP writing TV, print, web, radio, and out-of-home ads. I learned a lot, including that I hate working in advertising.
